Job Description
Analyst, Commercial Analytics
Posting Start Date:  4/28/26

FLUIDRA

Fluidra’s looking for an Analyst, Commercial Analytics to join our team in Carlsbad, CA.

WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

Fluidra North America is the commercial force behind some of the most recognized brands in the pool and wellness industry. With a broad portfolio of premium equipment and a growing dealer network across North America, we compete at scale in a market that rewards speed, precision, and insight. Revenue Operations is the team that makes our commercial engine run smarter.

Fluidra is in the middle of a meaningful analytics transformation: moving from a fragmented landscape of Excel-based reports and manual dashboards into a unified, scalable Power BI environment built to support a high-velocity commercial organization. This role exists because we need someone who can build it right - not just migrate files, but architect insight.

You will be the analytics engine embedded within the Revenue Operations team - fluent in both Power BI and Excel, and sharp enough to know which tool serves the moment. You will decode market dynamics, surface the commercial signals that drive growth, and translate raw data into the clear, consumable insights that enable our sales teams to move faster and compete smarter.

Working closely with the Revenue Insights Manager, you will own the migration from legacy reporting into a modern BI environment - while never losing sight of the ad hoc, fast-turn analytical work that keeps the commercial org running day to day.

This is a role with real scope. The insights you produce will shape how Fluidra NAM reads the market, identifies growth leverage, and puts the right information in front of the right people at the right time. Additionally, you will:

Sales Performance & Growth Intelligence

  • Dig into sell-through trends, market dynamics, and territory performance to surface the signals that tell our sales leaders where growth is happening, where it's stalling, and where the opportunity is being left on the table
  • Build white space analyses that identify cross-sell and upsell opportunity within our dealer and distributor base - translating account patterns into actionable growth targets for the field
  • Develop and maintain sales forecasting models and seasonal trend analyses in both Power BI and Excel - choosing the right tool for the question, not the most familiar one
  • Track and communicate rep performance analytics: quota attainment, activity trends, and conversion patterns presented in formats that sales managers can act on immediately

Distribution, Dealer & Channel Analytics

  • Monitor dealer and distributor trends across the channel - sell-through velocity, portfolio mix, program participation, and loyalty indicators - to help commercial leaders understand how the network is performing and where it needs attention
  • Build and maintain dealer scorecards and channel health dashboards in Power BI that give field teams and sales leadership a clear, current view of their account base
  • Analyze distributor compliance with program terms, identify buying pattern anomalies, and surface risk signals before they become revenue problems

Commercial Program & Performance Analytics

  • Measure the effectiveness of dealer loyalty programs, promotional campaigns, and trade investments - going beyond spend tracking to answer whether the investment is actually changing behavior and driving incremental volume
  • Analyze contract effectiveness and rebate performance, building the Excel models and Power BI reporting that track payout accuracy, program attainment, and ROI against design intent
  • Support compensation and customer rebate calculations with structured, auditable Excel models that Finance and Sales can trust and validate independently
  • Deliver program performance summaries that go beyond the numbers - telling the story of what's working, what isn't, and what should change next cycle

Reporting Infrastructure & BI Development

  • Lead the migration of legacy Excel dashboards and reports into Power BI - rationalizing what gets migrated, what gets retired, and what stays in Excel because a dashboard isn't the right tool for the job
  • Architect robust Power BI data models with optimized DAX measures and Power Query transformations that are built to scale, built to last, and built for someone else to maintain
  • Own the end-to-end publishing lifecycle: workspace governance, row-level security, refresh scheduling, and stakeholder distribution - the infrastructure that makes insights accessible to the right people at the right time
  • Document data definitions, model logic, and report methodology so the analytics we produce carry institutional credibility, not just individual expertise

Data Governance & Enablement

  • Own and manage the analytics request intake process - triaging incoming requests, setting realistic timelines, and maintaining a prioritized backlog so the team delivers the highest-impact work first
  • Validate data pipelines and reports before they reach leadership - performing user acceptance testing, cross-checking source data, and catching discrepancies before they become credibility problems
  • Train commercial stakeholders on self-service report navigation so they can answer their own questions faster, reducing noise for the analytics team and building genuine data literacy across the org
  • Flag data quality issues upstream and serve as the commercial organization's advocate for clean, analytics-ready data - because the best analysis is only as good as the data underneath it

WHAT WE SEEK

Business Intelligence - Power BI

  • 4+ years of hands-on Power BI development as your primary craft - not a secondary tool you reach for occasionally
  • Deep, production-tested DAX proficiency: CALCULATE, RANKX, time intelligence, virtual table functions - applied in real commercial reporting environments, not just tutorials
  • Strong Power Query / M code proficiency - you can build and debug multi-step transformations and know when to push logic to the source vs. handle it in the model
  • Proven experience migrating Excel-based reports and dashboards into Power BI at an organizational level - not just individual files
  • Workspace governance fluency: row-level security, workspace structure, refresh scheduling, naming standards, and publishing lifecycle ownership

Analytical & Modeling - Excel + SQL

  • Advanced Excel proficiency as a distinct, relied-upon skill - dynamic arrays, XLOOKUP, complex nested formulas, Power Query in Excel, and financial/commercial modeling
  • Comfortable building clean, structured Excel models from scratch for pricing analysis, territory planning, promotional evaluation, and trend assessment - fast, reliable, and presentation-ready
  • Power Pivot and Excel data modeling experience for scenarios where a full BI deployment is overkill
  • SQL fluency sufficient to write, read, and optimize queries against a cloud data warehouse (e.g. Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or equivalent)

Commercial & Interpersonal

  • Commercial curiosity: you ask why a metric matters before building the visual for it, and you push back when a request is solving the wrong problem
  • Ability to communicate data clearly to non-technical commercial audiences, including VP and C-suite stakeholders - presenting findings, not just publishing reports.
  • Stakeholder management and prioritization discipline - comfortable managing competing requests from Sales, Finance, Marketing, and field teams with clarity and without drama
  • Experience in a B2B environment with multi-channel distribution, commercial KPIs, or sales analytics

Preference

  • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or equivalent Power BI certification strongly preferred.
  • VBA or macro experience for automating Excel-based workflows
  • Experience building forecasting or predictive models using statistical methods in Excel or Power BI
  • Salesforce data familiarity - pulling CRM pipeline and activity data into BI models
  • Experience supporting a Revenue Operations, Commercial Excellence, or Sales Analytics function

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field - or equivalent demonstrated experience
