CAD Product Specialist/ Design Engineer

Fluidra’s looking for a CAD Product Specialist/ Design Engineer to join our team in Carlsbad, CA.

 

WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE 

An experienced SolidWorks operator is needed to support custom commercial equipment sales for a leading manufacturer in the pool market.  The position will be focused on custom fabricated stainless steel rail goods for swimming pools and aquatic centers, as well as custom pool covers and filtration solutions.  The position requires attention to detail in a fast-paced environment to support an established business pipeline.  Position will have opportunity to be cross-trained in other aspects of the business including custom product quotations, equipment selection and interfacing with high-profile aquatic designers, distributors and builders to support the product. Additionally, you will: 

  • Create 3D SolidWorks models of swimming pool equipment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Review the architectural plans, and our custom quotation to create railing solutions that align with industry standards, relevant codes and optimized manufacturing efficiency.
  • Understand proper dimensioning to create submittal drawings for customers’ approval.
  • Be cross trained in creating custom quotations for the above products.
  • Communicate across functions including with customers (distributors, builders, and aquatics designers), Project Managers, customer service and production fabricators.
  • Maintain organized and detailed project records within the ERP systems.
  • Communicate through multiple platforms including JIRA and CRM systems.

 

WHAT WE SEEK

  • Strong technical background with 4+ years’ experience operating SolidWorks in a 3D environment.
  • Experience in reviewing and interpreting architectural drawings.
  • Experience working within a team and with customers.
  • Computer skills - proficient computer system-based tools including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment on moderate to high complexity projects.
  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.



EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial design or similar, preferred.

Expected salary range is $80,000 - $100,000. Fluidra offers a comprehensive total rewards / benefits program that includes base salary, annual bonus based on performance of individual and company objectives, competitive 401K matching, paid vacation and sick time, full range of health benefits, educational assistance, etc. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience and location.
