We are looking for a talented Electro Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Commercial Engineering team and contribute to the development, support, and continuous improvement of innovative commercial products used worldwide.
Your Mission
As an Electro Mechanical Engineer, you will support Fluidra's commercial product portfolio through product development, sustaining engineering, technical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
Working closely with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Service teams, suppliers, and external technology partners, you will help ensure the performance, reliability, manufacturability, and overall value of our commercial products.
You will contribute to the development, integration, validation, and support of electro-mechanical systems used across commercial product platforms, including pumps, filtration systems, automation products, and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support commercial product lines through product development, sustaining engineering, product improvement, and technical problem-solving activities.
- Investigate and resolve product, manufacturing, supplier, field, and system-level technical issues using structured root cause analysis methodologies.
- Support the design, integration, validation, and testing of electro-mechanical systems involving mechanical, electrical, electronic, sensing, communication, and automation technologies.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Service teams, suppliers, and external technology partners to develop and implement robust engineering solutions.
- Support manufacturing operations through troubleshooting, product improvements, process support, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Assist in the development and execution of testing and validation activities to verify product performance, reliability, and design intent.
- Support laboratory testing activities, including assisting with the setup, modification, and troubleshooting of hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation test configurations used for product validation and performance evaluation.
- Collaborate with laboratory personnel and engineering teams to execute testing programs, collect performance data, and support technical investigations and product development activities.
- Identify opportunities for product optimization, standardization, reliability improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), test reports, and engineering change documentation.
- Participate in cross-functional projects supporting new product introductions, sustaining engineering initiatives, manufacturing transfers, supplier transitions, and product change implementations.
- Provide technical support and engineering guidance to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Conduct occasional field visits to support product evaluation, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of engineering experience supporting mechanical, electro-mechanical, or integrated product systems.
- Experience in product development, sustaining engineering, manufacturing support, or product improvement initiatives.
- Experience designing, documenting, testing, and supporting electro-mechanical systems and products.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve technical problems in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of electrical, electronic, control, communication, and mechanical systems used in electro-mechanical products.
- General understanding of manufacturing processes and product assembly.
- Experience supporting product validation, testing activities, and implementation of engineering changes.
- Experience participating in product testing or validation activities; familiarity with laboratory testing is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information and recommendations.
- Experience collaborating with suppliers, manufacturing facilities, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities while working effectively in a collaborative environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with automation systems, controls, monitoring systems, or system integration projects.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as RS485, Modbus, BACnet, CAN, or Ethernet.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, firmware interactions, and applicable electrical, safety, and regulatory standards (UL, CE, CSA, ETL, IEC, or similar).
- SolidWorks experience preferred; experience reviewing engineering drawings is desirable.
- Experience supporting field evaluations, product commissioning, installation support, or troubleshooting activities at customer or commercial sites.
- Experience with industrial or commercial products.
- Experience with pumps, filtration systems, water treatment products, or building automation systems is considered an advantage.
