Fluidra’s looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our S.R. Smith facility in Portland, TN.

 

WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE 

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety of equipment and facilities. This role oversees a team of maintenance personnel, manages preventative maintenance programs, and ensures timely resolution of equipment issues to support the site’s operational goals. The Maintenance Supervisor also plays a key role in safety compliance, training programs, contractor management, and continuous facility improvements. Additionally, you will: 

  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily activities of maintenance technicians and support staff.
  • Lead routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Prioritize and manage scheduled and emergency repairs to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Diagnose complex equipment issues and provide guidance or direct support in troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and equipment history for analysis and compliance.
  • Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors, including oversight of work quality and safety adherence.
  •  Ensure proper use, maintenance, and inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
  • Promote and enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance across the facility.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety programs, training, and related supplies.
  • Oversee forklift training and certification programs in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Lead facility improvement initiatives, including capital projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support general facility maintenance needs, including light construction, repairs, and coordination of janitorial or “handyman” tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with Production and Operations leadership to align maintenance activities with business objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

WHAT WE SEEK

  • Proven experience in maintenance with demonstrated leadership or supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems

  • Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Experience with preventative maintenance systems and CMMS preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Effective leadership, communication, and team development skills
  • High sense of urgency with strong accountability and follow-through
  • Experience operating forklifts and ability to train/certify others preferred

 

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to read and write, sit, walk within the facility to access file cabinets, documents, stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 10 pounds. They also occasionally move objects weighing up to 20 lbs., and sometimes, but rarely, up to 50 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment includes both office and industrial settings. The employee will regularly be exposed to manufacturing floor conditions, including moderate to high noise levels, moving machinery, and varying temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when working in operational areas.
